JasonPB is a photographer, educator and writer based in Somerset, UK. He has been working as a full-time photographer for the past decade and regularly runs photography workshops and classes. He’s been lucky enough to work in a variety of photographic disciplines and for some great clients. After completing his Undergraduate degree at University of Glamorgan and a Masters degree at Bath Spa University, Jason completed his teaching qualification and soon started lecturing in photography at Gloucestershire College, UK.
In 2014 he was named Digital Photographer of the Year for his macrophotography. After retouching for fashion brands like Per Una and Sainsbury’s Tu, Jason took on the role of Photographer at fashion brand Superdry plc. After several years, and seeking a fresh, exciting new challenge he decided to pursue editorial work, shooting for multiple music magazines, including Prog Rock. He soon started writing freelance for photography magazines, and was the Technique Editor for N-Photo magazine, the UK’s only Nikon-specific mag for four years. He’s written and presented more than 100 how-to photography videos, and his work can be seen in a number of photography bookazines across the world. As well as running workshops for Nikon School UK, Jason launched LIGHTCAMP in 2018 a photography bootcamp course that steers away from traditional, uninspired photo workshops, instead focusing on fun, informal, task-based sessions. Jason now also interviews official Canon ambassadors for Canon’s European website.
Having had the opportunity to shoot in a number of disciplines from fashion to portraiture, landscape to astrophotography and wildlife, Jason’s greatest strength is his ability to produce high quality work in a variety of photographic genres. He is known for his fun, relaxed and informative approach to teaching photography and quickly puts others at ease.
